There are very few things in my life that I can consistently come back to with an ever-growing appreciation. It’s typical for me to love something I’ve created one day, then hate it 6 months later. I think that’s a sign of growth though, so I’m ok with it. These photos, however, I’ve always loved; since the second I took them. Maybe that means I haven’t grown as a photographer… Or, maybe I just love the memories and stories associated with them. Who knows? Either way, this collection of photos will never grow old to me.
The majority of these photos were taken with very long exposures. There’s something about capturing very quiet moments that I can’t get enough of. The long exposure pulls colors and movement that you wouldn’t have normally seen with your eyes. Each photo has it’s own back story, but I don’t think it’s necessary to go into that detail. At least not here. Take them for what they are.

I really like these photos. I have toyed around a little with long exposures and I enjoy them. Seeing these kind of got my mind plotting a late night photo shoot. Thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE the photo of the child standing in front of the fridge. Seriously, I just LOVE everything about it! I have been needing some inspiration for my own work, and I find this one completely inspiring. Thank you!
I don’t think it’s that you haven’t grown. I think its that they’re just awesome photos. I’ve loved the gravel pit since I saw it on the wall of the church. sometimes i think you just have those moments that are timeless regardless of your growth. this is one of them. oh and you smell like poo! I hope you’re a daddy soon! enjoy your sleep while you can.
These are great – I love long exposures, the night sky is always so mesmerizing. I’ve also been meaning to say how much I like the new redesign of your blog. Take care and here is hoping that you and Jen meet your daughter very soon!
These are stunning. They’re all so still yet there’s a sense of anticipation…that something is about to happen. Very cool.
Beautiful images up there! I love long exposures, they allow you to play lots, make magic effects, i love playing with light, and portraits can get awesome ‘cos you can stay very quiet for a while and then move to create some ghostly characters, that’s something i love doing! :)
Absolutely love the light trail exposure. Great work on all of these!
